Ghost Stories – After Lust Stories, It’s Horror From The 4 Ace Directors

After the 2 successful anthologies, Bombay Talkies and Lust Stories, directors Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee come another anthology Ghost Stories. It stars Mrunal Thakur, Avinash Tiwary, Janhvi Kapoor, Raghuvir Yadav, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vijay Varma and Pavail Gulati.

In a recent interview, Karaj Johar said that he must have dug his grave when he suggested in a conference that he along with the other 3 directors should make something in the horror genre. It is a fun fact to know that the 4 directors haven’t ever made a movie or worked in this genre in their lives.

The ensemble cast looks interesting as actors Vijay Varma and Janhvi Kapoor will play the protagonist in the Zoya Akhtar’s segment, while Sobhita Dhulipala and Pavail Gulati star in Anurag’s part. Karan Johar cast Mrunal Thakur and Avinash Tiwary, and Sukant Goel along with Gulshan Devaiah mark their performances in Dibakar Banerjee’s version.

The series produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua under their production banner RSVP Movies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment respectively, released on Netflix on 1st January 2019.

Film critic Mayank Shekhar took the interview of three of the four directors in different segments, Segment 1) Karan Johar, Avinash Tiwari, and Mrunal Thakur; Segment 2)   Zoya Akhtar andJanhvi Kapoor; Segment 3)Anurag Kashyap and Sobhita Dhulipala. To see the interview, turn on your television and switch to Showbox Channel on 4th January, Saturday at 9 PM.

Considering it’s a debut for the 4 directors in this genre, it would be interesting to see how they executed it. We will know the inside stories and what went down into making yet another anthology.

P. S. If you’re soft-hearted and are scared of the horror stories or movies, and are inclined towards watching this web-series on Netflix, we highly recommend you to check out the trailer.
